VAZHAKKAI PODIMAS | RAW BANANA PODIMAS
VAZHAKKAI PODIMAS : Raw Banana or vazhakkai is one of my daughter's favorite vegetable. This can be cooked in various forms and can also be combined with other vegetables.
This recipe is simple and tastes well with freshly grated coconut. Serve with plain rice along with Kara Kuzhambu and enjoy :).
Serves : 2
Preparations time : 20 minsCooking time : 15 mins
For this recipe you need
1 big sized raw banana
1 big sized onion , finely choped
2 green chillies, finely choped
1/2 tsp. of turmeric powder
3 tbsp. of freshly grated coconut
Salt
Oil
Preparation
Wash and cut the edges of the raw banana ,chop it and put them into a pan with sufficient water, cook until it turns soft. Remove the skin and chop it finely.
Heat oil in a saucepan, add mustard seeds, when they pop add urad dal and curry leaves,fry for a min. Add the chopped onion and green chillies . Fry for about 4- 5 mins.
Tip in the raw banana, along with turmeric powder and salt. Stir it gently for a couple of minutes. Finally add grated coconut and mix it well. Remove from heat.
Tasty vazhakkai podimas is ready to be served............
Serve this delicious vazhakkai podimas with rice and enjoy :)
